Rose hip oil is made from the base of the rose found just below the petals. It is derived from the flower species Rose Canina. Similar to a rose,  rose hip oil is also edible and has multiple health benefits. For example, its high nutrient content makes using rose hip oil for hair very beneficial for growth and damage repair.

Its use dates back to ancient Egyptian, Mayan, and Native American civilizations. Due to the oil’s rich fatty acid content, it was believed to have healing powers. 1. Hot Oil Massage

Hot oil is an age-old method to increase hair growth. This helps the oil to get properly absorbed into the scalp and nourishes it from within. Just warm the oil up and apply it directly. Hot oil massage also helps in stress relieving

2. Mix with Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is one of the most commonly used hair oils, so when a person is switching from coconut oil to Rose Hip Oil it is often suggested to combine the two at first. This allows your body time to transition to Rose Hip Oil gradually and can even provide added moisture.

3. Mix with Amla Oil, Castor Oil, and Almond Oil

This powerhouse combination of oils is like an energy drink for your hair. When these oils are mixed with Rose Hip Oil they make a thick hair mask. A weekly application can help promote hair growth and reduce damage. It’s also a great option for people who don’t have time for daily oil application.  For this combination oil: mix all four oils together in equal parts, apply to your hair and scalp, wrap it in a towel or hair cap, and leave it on overnight. Wash it out overnight, washing it twice if needed.

Though Rosehip oil is natural and has a mild texture it still needs to be used with care. People with allergies to roses and flowers in general should practice caution and try a patch test before use.
